Thermenland Styria

Time to live in the Thermenland Styria

Time for well-being

The Thermenland Styria is located just 65 km south-east of Graz, the capital of Styria, and is home to the six thermal spa resorts of Bad Radkersburg,
Bad Gleichenberg, Loipersdorf, Bad Blumau, Bad Waltersdorf and Sebersdorf where thermal springs burst from the ground, packed with energy.

These springs extend down to 3,000 m in places and can reach temperatures of 110 °C. The soft soothing water is a source of warmth, well-being, energy and zest for life and can improve health, beauty and inner balance.

The southernmost thermal spa resort in the region, Bad Radkersburg, represents exercise and dynamism. The newest health resort is based in Bad Gleichenberg. The oldest thermal spa resort in the region dates back 175 years and offers a traditional range of spa treatments. Loipersdorf is a family spa and focuses on the power of laughter. It is committed to alternative healing methods in particular. The Rogner Bad Blumau lives out the fantasy and vision of its creator, artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Bad Waltersdorf swears by the power of rest and traditional Styrian medicine. With its double tyre slide and turbo slide, Sebersdorf is aimed in particular at families and children.

Time to enjoy

During your culinary voyage of discovery to the Thermenland Styria, you will have a chance to sample authentic Styrian pumpkin seed oil, spicy Vulcano ham, quality vinegars and schnapps, home-made jams, home-baked bread and hand-scooped chocolates. All served with love. With so many great products on offer, it is little wonder that TV chef Johann Lafer swears by the produce of his homeland and serves as a culinary ambassador for the region.

The small winegrowing establishments produce some exquisite wines from the volcanic soils. The wines made here are predominantly white wines (Welschriesling, Pinot blanc, Sauvignon blanc, Riesling Sylvaner, Chardonnay, etc.) and are characterised by their typical dry and fruity nature. The red wines (Blauer Zweigelt, Blauburger and St. Laurent) also give international wines a run for their money. The region contains four wine roads dotted with numerous wine taverns and pubs where guests can sample home-made snacks and top quality wines from the local cellars.

Time for exercise

The gently rolling hills are ideal for cycling and walking: the region is home to over 3,000 km of cycle trails. The 14 Gourmet Cycling Tours with appealing names such as the Lucullus Tour, Tasty Treats Tour and Wine & Water Tour are particularly rewarding.

The free ‘Genussradeln’ (gourmet cycling tours) brochure provides details of the route lengths, features and connection options. And of course, there are plenty of tips for enjoying your pleasure cycling too!

Our history:

A unique project, the Rogner Bad Blumau thermal spas designed by artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser, inspired us to create an ‘oasis of relaxation’ for our guests.
We welcomed our first guests on 2 August 1997, just 3 months after the opening of the Rogner Bad Blumau spas.
We have continued to expand our offer for guests by adding an outdoor swimming pool, conservatory and small sauna area.

QUALITY - SERVICE – CUSTOMER SATISFACTION – ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION are key integrated components of our corporate policy.
Our company has been awarded the Austrian eco label (Österreichisches Umweltzeichen) and has been issued ISO certification in recognition of its exemplary quality management. Together with our employees and regional partners, we aim to spoil our guests and introduce them to our goal of living in harmony with nature.
We look forward to meeting you!
Your host family Maria, Andreas and Kristina Perl and the whole team
